Amit Jain is vice president of care transformation and medical director of value-based care at Johns Hopkins, where he is also an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery and business.

In his executive role, Dr. Jain leads enterprise-wide care redesign across six hospitals and affiliated outpatient sites to advance value, efficiency and effectiveness in healthcare delivery. That work sits alongside an active surgical practice.

As a spine surgeon, he specializes in caring for children with complex spinal deformities and adults with degenerative spinal conditions. He directs the Johns Hopkins Spine Surgery Fellowship and leads international research collaboratives.
Dr. Jain holds multiple NIH grants and has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific publications. He was named a 2026 United States Presidential Leadership Scholar.
