Alexander Sah is an orthopedic surgeon at Sah Orthopaedic Associates in Fremont, California, and medical director of the outpatient joint replacement program at Washington Outpatient Surgery Center.

He also serves as co-medical director of the Institute for Joint Restoration and Research at Washington Health.

Dr. Sah specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, outpatient joint surgery, and complex and revision procedures, with particular expertise in partial knee and patellofemoral replacement.

He has become nationally known for outpatient anterior hip replacement and for ASC-based arthroplasty workflows, and surgeons from across the United States and internationally travel to observe his outpatient program.

Dr. Sah earned his medical degree magna cum laude from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Harvard Medical School and finished an adult reconstructive orthopaedics fellowship at Rush University Medical Center.

He served as president of the Anterior Hip Foundation and serves as chief medical officer for Think Surgical.

In 2025 Newsweek ranked him second in the country for knee replacement surgery and 21st for hip replacement, making him one of only a handful of surgeons ranked in the top 30 for both.
