Oracle Cerner continues Canadian expansion, signs 10-year EHR deal with Nova Scotia

EHR and software giant Oracle Cerner signed a 10-year deal with the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Halifax-based IWK Health to implement an EHR system for 1 million patients in the Canadian province.

The EHR modernization plan, called “One Person One Record,” is intended to allow easier access to health information and save clinicians time. Oracle Cerner has worked with Nova Scotia’s health system for 30 years, according to a Feb. 1 Oracle Cerner news release.

The new platform will include digital medication management and population health tools. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
