MedAware uses artificial intelligence to monitor a patient’s medications and clinical records. The company’s goal is to identify medication-related risks — such as adverse drug events or a patient’s risk of developing opioid dependency — to support safe prescribing and medication management practices.
The point-of-care intervention will be offered over Allscripts’ dbMotion solution, a health information exchange platform.
“We look forward to demonstrating the impact our clinical monitoring technology will have on providing safer patient care and helping to curb the opioid epidemic that continues to devastate families and communities throughout the U.S.,” Gidi Stein, MD, PhD, co-founder and CEO of MedAware, said in the company’s June 19 statement.
