The newly enhanced features—part of Oracle Health Patient Flow, Clinical Operations Whiteboard, Transfer Center and Command Center Dashboard—allow organizations to adjust their emergency response strategies in near real time, according to a March 4 news release from Oracle Health.
Previously, hospitals relied on manual and time-consuming processes, such as phone calls and written orders, to relocate patients during emergencies. Oracle Health’s new capabilities streamline these processes by enabling batch actions for bed management teams, improving efficiency and situational awareness.
The updated tools also allow hospitals to temporarily add or remove disaster beds from view in Oracle Health Patient Flow. Care teams can assign priorities, determine patient movement orders and track bed availability at accepting facilities. Nursing staff can also designate beds for new patient admissions, reducing administrative burdens and allowing teams to focus on critical patient care, according to the company.
Oracle Health said the new emergency management features will be available at no additional cost to existing health system operations customers.
