What CVS did in 2022: 5 takeaways

  1. CVS joined Walmart and other pharmacy chains to block or delay ADHD medication prescriptions from online telehealth companies. Some pharmacies have expressed concern that these drugs are prescribed with little oversight.
  2. CVS Caremark dominated the pharmacy benefit manager market, holding out the top spot with 34 percent of the market share.
  3. In September, CVS Health entered into an agreement to acquire home health company Signify Health for about $8 billion.
  4. CVS and Walgreens agreed to pay $10.7 billion to settle allegations that the company failed to properly oversee opioid prescriptions.
  5. In February, the company rolled out uninterrupted lunch breaks for its pharmacists to combat burnout.
