The clinical workflow assistant, dubbed Dragon Copilot, integrates multiple functions into a single interface, according to a March 3 news release. It leverages Dragon Medical One’s speech technology—responsible for documenting billions of patient records—alongside Dragon Ambient eXperience’s ambient AI, which has processed more than 3 million patient conversations in the past month.

Dragon Copilot’s features include:

  • Streamlined documentation: Multilanguage ambient note creation, automated tasks, dictation capabilities, personalized formatting, and AI-powered templates.
  • Information retrieval: A built-in AI assistant that provides trusted medical information sourced from authoritative databases.
  • Task automation: Clinicians can automate routine functions such as generating referral letters, after-visit summaries, and clinical evidence reports within a centralized workspace.

Microsoft reported that health systems already using these ambient AI capabilities have seen significant improvements, including saving five minutes per encounter, a 70% reduction in clinician burnout, and a 93% increase in reported patient satisfaction, according to the release.

Dragon Copilot will be available in the U.S. and Canada in May.
