CVS Health is partnering with Google Cloud to develop an AI-powered consumer engagement platform as part of a broader effort to reshape how patients interact with the healthcare system.

In a March 5 news release, the company announced a partnership with Google Cloud alongside the launch of a new health technology services subsidiary, Health100. The subsidiary will build a digital platform designed to connect consumers with health services across pharmacies, providers, insurers, pharmacy benefit managers and digital health companies.

Here are seven things to know:

  1. The platform is intended to offer a unified experience regardless of where consumers receive care or coverage.

  2. Health100 will use agentic AI to create a real-time, “always-on” healthcare interface that allows users to engage with their care through multiple channels. CVS Health said the platform is designed to help consumers better manage their health, access care more quickly and understand healthcare costs.

  3. The system will also connect patients to pharmacist-led care management, which the company described as an underutilized clinical resource.

  4. Google Cloud will provide the infrastructure and AI capabilities supporting the platform, including Gemini AI models, Cloud Healthcare API and BigQuery. The technology is intended to integrate data from multiple healthcare sources to support clinical and administrative workflows.

  5. Future versions of the platform may also integrate biometric data from wearable devices to provide real-time health monitoring and support, CVS Health said.

  6. The companies said Google Cloud’s data governance and privacy policies are designed to maintain patient data control and support HIPAA compliance alongside CVS Health’s security and privacy protections.

  7. CVS Health plans to launch the Health100 platform in 2026. The company also intends to allow other health technology companies to build specialized applications within the platform as part of an open ecosystem.

Additional details about the platform and a preview of the consumer experience are expected to be shared at Google’s annual health event, “The Check Up,” later this month, according to the news release.
