Under the contract, employees represented by the AFSCME will continue to be guaranteed 40-hour work weeks and furloughs will end, but they will receive 6 fewer personal days each year and will begin contributing 3 percent of their salary toward their pension.
The deal must now be approved by Jackson’s governing body, ratified by the union and approved by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, according to the report.
