Medical Interns Rank in the Top Five Most Stressful Jobs

Medical interns have the fifth most stressful job in the country, behind air traffic controllers, inner city high school teachers, police officers and miners, based on information from the Centers for Disease Control and Careercast.com, according to a Christian Science Monitor report.

Medical interns, students in training at a hospital to become physicians or specialists, receive an average annual salary of $35,000. Interns are required to be “on call” on a rotating basis and regularly work 36-hour days.
