Lawsuit Alleges Pennsylvania Health Systems Cheated Employees Out of Pay

A lawsuit filed in New York against the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, West Penn Allegheny Health System and Pittsburgh Mercy Health System alleges that the hospital systems cheated thousands of employees out of pay for work performed outside of scheduled shifts and during lunch breaks, according to a report by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Approximately 700 current and former employees of the health systems have already signed up to join the lawsuits, according to the report.

The suit, if granted class-action status, would affect more than 100,000 current and former employees of the systems.
