Connecticut Hospital to Cut Workforce, Angioplasty Program

The New Milford (Conn.) Hospital announced that it will implement cost-saving measures, citing low year-to-date patient volumes, according to a report in The New Milford Times.

The hospital will cut workforce by 7 percent by deferring new hiring for 2009, job consolidation and staff reductions. In addition, the hospital announced that it will be closing its emergency angioplasty program, effective May 4.
