According to the report, Bristol stopped accepting the insurance because they failed to reach an agreement with United Healthcare regarding reimbursement rates. This change will affect approximately 1,800 of United Healthcare’s 450,000 Connecticut members.
Emergency care will still be covered under the United Healthcare’s member agreements.
Both parties are open to resuming negotiations in the hopes of reaching an agreement.
