Officials at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston are not disclosing whether or not resigning CEO Paul Levy will receive severance pay, according to a piece by Boston Globe columnist Brian McGrory.
BIDMC filings with the Internal Revenue Service reveal Mr. Levy may be entitled to anywhere from zero to $1.6 million in severance, which is dependent on circumstances, according to the column.
In an e-mail written to Mr. McGrory, a public relations consultant hired by BIDMC said, “It is a longstanding policy at BIDMC to protect the privacy of our employees; consequently, we do not comment on personnel matters for any individual,” according to the column. Other hospital officials declined comment or did not return phone calls.
