The report comes as N.Y. Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed a $199,000 salary cap of taxpayer money for executives of state non-profit organizations, including hospitals.
Here are the eight hospital leaders that earned more than $1 million in 2010:
• Jon Schandler, president and CEO of White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital: $1.61 million
• Edward Lundy, MD, director of cardiac surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y.: $1.48 million
• Edward Dinan, president and CEO of Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville, N.Y.: $1.42 million
• Michael Israel, president and CEO of Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y.: $1.31 million
• John Federspiel, president and CEO of Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.: $1.23 million
• Joel Seligman, president and CEO of Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, N.Y.: $1.17 million
• Keith Safian, president and CEO of Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.: $1.14 million
• Stephen Heier, MD, director of advanced endoscopy and gastroenterology at Phelps Memorial: $1 million
