U.S. grants patent for grafts containing tissue-forming cells

The Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation received a patent related to allogeneic tissue grafts that contain a population of viable, endogenous tissue-forming cells.

This patent, along with a previous patent that is related to the processing of the aforementioned allogeneic tissue grafts, are associated with the Trinity Evolution and Trinity ELITE grafts. The Trinity grafts are cellular bone matrices that are processed by the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation and marketed for applications in orthopedic and spine surgery by Orthofix.

The Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is a national consortium of organ procurement organizations, tissue recovery organizations and academic medical institutions.
