Villanova University, Geneia Institute Offer ACO Care Coordinator Training

The Geneia Institute, a healthcare innovations company, and Villanova (Pa.) University are partnering on a course for nurses and social workers to learn the skills necessary to serve as care coordinators in accountable care organizations.

The course, “Coordinating Care in a Fragmented System,” is comprised of in-person and online classes, and is focused on the following core concepts:

• Financial considerations of care delivery
• Population health management concepts
• Principles to educate patients
• Patient engagement
• Managing high-risk populations, gaps in care and transitions of care
