UC San Diego Health and San Diego County are partnering to expand the region's access to inpatient behavioral health services. 

Two hospitals in Istanbul are the newest members of the Mayo Clinic Care Network — a group of more than three dozen healthcare organizations with access to Mayo Clinic resources and expertise. 

Illinois' first hospital-based donor care center will open Sept. 19 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network and the medical center confirmed to Becker's.

Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, Va., will close its pediatric unit at the end of September, though officials emphasize the hospital will continue to provide care for children in the emergency department and make safe transfers when necessary. 

Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital and Boston-based Mass General Brigham are strengthening their affiliation to expand access to specialty care for Florida residents. 

Pittsburgh-based UPMC and the Department of Veterans Affairs  Veterans Integrated Service Network No. 4, or VA Healthcare–VISN 4, are expanding a nurse liaison program that improves health outcomes and care for veterans.

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic reduced unnecessary antibiotic prescribing for upper respiratory infections by 50% without diminishing patient satisfaction by implementing an ambulatory antibiotic stewardship program.

Officials at Exeter (N.H.) Hospital, have agreed to continue operating a specialized paramedic program through at least Dec. 20 after meeting with New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella. 

The John Hopkins Howard County Medical Center Foundation launched a new campaign to raise $3 million to expand its behavioral health unit in Columbia, Md.
