Cedars-Sinai is preparing for a surge in patients with respiratory issues as wildfires continue to burn in Los Angeles County. 

A Veterans Affairs hospital in Richmond, Va., is halting all outpatient appointments, procedures and surgeries Jan. 9 and 10 after the city's reservoir system malfunctioned.

Some health systems are reporting an uptick in emergency department visits after a severe winter weather system moved through the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions earlier this week, Fox affiliate WDAF-TV reported Jan. 7.
