On June 14, Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Wash., will open its new $500 million medical tower, which includes hybrid operating rooms, according to a Mukilteo Beacon report.
Two floors of the expansion are devoted to surgical and interventional procedures. The “hybrid OR” will feature 28 rooms. The tower is one of the first to combine the departments, as surgery and interventional procedures have commonly been housed separately.
Also, one room in the department will have a C-arm for real-time X-rays. This way, physicians will not have to make incisions to view a real-time image.
