The School of Medicine’s radiation oncology practice plan — the University of Maryland Radiation Oncology Associates P.A. — will provide clinical management and therapeutic services at the center.

The Maryland Proton Treatment Center will create 175 permanent jobs and will be able to treat approximately 2,000 patients annually. The building will also include space for retail.
