Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, most health insurance plans must cover recommended preventive health care services without cost sharing. These services include but are not limited to the following: blood pressure screening, well-baby and well-child visits, obesity screening and counseling, flu vaccination and other immunizations, well-woman visits, tobacco cessation interventions, domestic violence screening and counseling, vision screening for children, breastfeeding support and supplies, HIV screening, FDA-approved contraceptive methods and depression screening.

- 55.6 million are women
- 53.5 million are men
- 15 million are black
- 17 million are Latino
