Utah Valley Regional Opens New Electrophysiology Lab

Provo-based Utah Valley Regional Medical Center has opened a new electrophysiology lab for cardiac imaging, the third of its kind in the United States, according to a report from the local Utah County Fox News channel.

 At the lab, technicians use scanning equipment to create three-dimensional models of patient hearts, which allow physicians to consider options for less invasive heart treatments.

In addition, the particular lab equipment used reduces patient exposure to radiation when compared to more traditional imaging techniques, according to the report.
