Michigan’s Genesys Health System Settles False Claims Allegations on Cardiology Reimbursements

Genesys Health System, based in Grand Blanc, Mich., has agreed to pay $669,413 to settle a Medicare false claims lawsuit alleging that it overbilled for evaluation and management services for cardiology patients, according to a release by the U.S. Justice Department.

Genesys, a member of Ascension Health, includes 378-bed Genesys Regional Medical Center, also in Grand Blanc, Mich.

U.S. News & World Report this year ranked Genesys as one of the top 50 hospitals in the country, recognizing it in the areas of digestive disorders, neurology and neurosurgery and respiratory disorders.
