Groundbreaking for 600-Bed Academic Heart Center in New York

Construction started Aug. 4 on a new inpatient vascular and cardiovascular facility in Buffalo, N.Y., according to WGRZ TV in Buffalo.

The 10-story facility, expected to cost about $291 million, will be jointly operated by Kaleida Health, Western New York’s largest hospital network, and the University of Buffalo.

The building, which will be used it for research and teaching, will house 600 patient beds, 30 ORs, and an ER for up to 60,000 visits a year.
