14 heart centers earning designations

Here are 14 heart centers and programs that earned designations and accreditation in the last 90 days:

  1. The Franciscan Health Heart & Vascular Institute Olympia Fields (Ill.) echocardiography lab was granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for adult transthoracic echocardiography.

  2. New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center received the Mitral Valve Repair Reference Center Award from the American Heart Association and the Mitral Foundation.

  3. UC Health's University of Cincinnati Medical Center and West Chester (Ohio) Hospital have again been recognized by the American Heart Association with the Heart Failure Gold Plus Award.

  4. Morgantown, W.Va.-based Mon Health Medical Center is the first in West Virginia and 24th in the country to receive redesignation as HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence by the American College of Cardiology.

  5. Kingwood, W.Va.-based Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital was awarded Chest Pain Center Accreditation.

  6. Chillicothe, Mo.-based Hedrick Medical Center received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines-Coronary Artery Disease Rural Recognition Bronze Award.

  7. Methodist Fremont (Neb.) Health was awarded two bronze American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines—Coronary Artery Disease Rural Recognitions.

  8. West Chester, Pa.-based Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital received The American College of Cardiology's Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI.

  9. Beckley, W.Va.-based Raleigh General Hospital once again received its Chest Pain Center Accreditation.

  10. Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Cardiology was awarded chest pain center accreditation with primary percutaneous coronary intervention from the American College of Cardiology.

  11. Millersburg, Ohio-based Pomerene Hospital received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines-Coronary Artery Disease Rural Recognition Bronze award for ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

  12. The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at New York City-based The Mount Sinai Hospital received three-star recognition in all of the cardiac surgery categories in the 2020-2023 Society of Thoracic Surgeons report.

  13. Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag's Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart and Vascular Institute earned a three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for three categories of surgery: isolated aortic valve replacement, isolated mitral valve replacement and repair and isolated coronary artery bypass grafting.

  14. The Cardiothoracic Surgery Division at Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital once again earned a three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons for its patient care and outcomes in isolated coronary artery bypass grafting procedures.
