Corpus Christi, Texas-based Driscoll Children’s is set to open its $100 million Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas, on May 1.

Gainesville, Ga.-based Northeast Georgia Health System opened its new $69.5 million Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin hospital in Dahlonega, Ga., on April 15.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based TriStar Health, part of HCA Healthcare, plans to build a $250 million full-service hospital in Spring Hill, Tenn., local news outlets reported April 15. 

Amarillo, Texas-based Northwest Texas Healthcare System broke ground on a new $14.4 million emergency department location April 12 in Amarillo. 

Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare has received a $20 million donation to expand its "Just Imagine" campaign that supports Parkinson's disease research and programs.

Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital is planning to open a new center focusing on men's health after receiving a $6.5 million donation from Jagadamba Chivukula, MD, and Krishna Chivukula. 

Patrick Cawley, MD, CEO of Charleston, S.C.-based Medical University of South Carolina, has received approval from the MUSC board of trustees for the development of two hospital projects for a total of $705 million.

Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Healthcare Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sarasota Memorial Hospital, has raised more than $93 million in six years to support the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute. 

Gaithersburg, Md.-based Adventist HealthCare has received $10 million from the state and is looking for $150 million more over time for the development of its new hospital in Prince George's County, Md., the Washington Business Journal reported April 11.

Construction on a $335 million biomedical research center in Detroit is expected to begin in May after receiving approval from the Michigan State University board of trustees.
