Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare has expanded its joint venture with Encompass Health to include Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, in Augusta, Ga. 

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger has shared plans for a proposed $880 million expansion to its Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. 

Orlando Health's new 320,000 square foot hospital in Lake Mary, Fla., is slated to open in January 2025 after beginning construction in November 2021.

In the next fiscal year, Charleston, S.C.-based Medical University of South Carolina plans to spend almost $600 million to expand services and begin construction on two new hospitals, The Post and Courier reported July 8.

Officials with the city of Pittsburgh halted construction work on UPMC's $1.5 billion hospital tower June 20, saying the health system did not have permits required for certain aspects of the project, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.
