Columbus, Ohio-based Mount Carmel Health System is planning to build a 190,000-square-foot, 60-bed hospital and ambulatory center in Dublin, Ohio, The Columbus Dispatch reported Dec. 9.

Eleven capital projects of more than $1.5 billion were announced, broke ground or were completed in 2021.

Pittsburgh-based UPMC will build a new 17-story, 636-bed tower on the former Children's Hospital site.

Bright Health Group is expecting between $6.3 billion and $6.5 billion in revenue in 2022, which would reflect a 50 percent year-over-year growth, according to a Dec. 7 news release. 

Toms River, N.J.-based Community Medical Center will update its campus through a $600 million investment, which is expected to be completed in seven to 10 years, the Asbury Park Press reported Dec. 8.

Cigna Ventures is in on the latest $750 million investment in Bright Health Group, and the startup's CEO said the move could spark collaboration down the road, according to the Star Tribune. 

Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health cut the ribbon Dec. 6 on its new Adult Outpatient Pavilion, which is the health system's largest outpatient facility and cost $384 million.

Pikeville (Ky.) Medical Center opened the 13,400-square-foot Drs. R.V. and Jyothi Mettu Children's Hospital on Dec. 6, which is the only children's hospital in eastern Kentucky.
