The South Nassau Communities Hospital Emergency Department at Long Beach (N.Y.) will begin operating on Aug. 10 to serve a community that was struck by Hurricane Sandy and saw the closure of the former Long Beach (N.Y.) Medical Center in 2012.
The new facility will operate 24/7 and will be able to receive ambulances for patients that require emergency care.
According to a South Nassau Communities Hospital press release, its new facility at Long Beach is Long Island’s first off-campus, hospital-based ED.
