The addition will be in the form of a 60-bed transitional care building, according to the report, and the beds will be licensed as skilled nursing beds. However, despite that designation, administrators said the facility “will provide transitional skilled nursing care for any adult patients who are discharged from the hospital but who still need continued medically complex care at a facility,” rather than just seniors, according to the report.
The project is estimated to cost $11 million, including construction costs and architectural or land-acquisition fees, according to the report. Pending approval, workers could break ground on the project as early as next year.
