Cleveland VA Medical Center opens clinic for transgender vets

The Cleveland VA Medical Center is opening a clinic specifically dedicated to addressing the healthcare needs of transgender veterans, according to an ABC News report.

The clinic will offer primary care services, hormonal therapy, mental healthcare and other services to transgender veterans. All providers in the new clinic have an interest in transgender healthcare and have said they will create a friendly environment for those veterans. Currently, the Cleveland VA treats about 20 transgender patients.

According to a WKYC-TV report, the clinic has planned an opening ceremony Nov. 12.
