The surgeons represent independent private practices in Newport Beach, Irvine, Aliso Viejo and Huntington Beach, and are consolidating in an effort to provide better patient service and more coordinated care. The consolidation is also an opportunity to work more collaboratively with health systems and hospitals, as well as with referring physician groups and health plans, according to a news release.

The group will be named Newport Irvine Surgical Specialists and will operate out of an office at Hoag’s Newport Beach hospital beginning in October. The surgeons currently perform surgery at that hospital, as well as at Hoag’s Irvine campus and Memorial Care’s Orange County Memorial Hospital in Fountain Valley.
