80% of physicians prefer in-person visits over telehealth, study says

Eighty percent of physicians said they would prefer to provide little to no telehealth visits in the future, according to an April 3 study published in Health Affairs

Three key findings from the study:

  1. Thirty-six percent of patients said they would prefer video or phone care.
  2. Sixty-percent of physicians said telehealth visits provided less quality of care compared to in-person visits.
  3. Ninety percent of patients and physicians said lack of physical examination was one of the main reasons they did not prefer telehealth visits.
