Forbes published its annual “World’s Billionaires” list March 5. The publication calculated members’ wealth using stock prices and exchange rates from Feb. 8. Members of the list may have become richer or poorer after the list’s publication.
Billionaires’ total net worth was $8.7 trillion, down $400 billion from 2018. The publication estimates 11 percent of individuals on the 2018 list didn’t make the cut –– the largest decline since 2009.
The richest healthcare leader was Thomas Frist Jr. and his family, who formed Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare. Their net worth clocked in at $12.4 billion.

1. Jeff Bezos and family –– $131 billion
2. Bill Gates –– $96.5 billion
3. Warren Buffett –– $82.5 billion
4. Bernard Arnault and family –– $76 billion
5. Carlos Slim Helu and family –– $64 billion
6. Amancio Ortega –– $62.7 billion
7. Larry Ellison –– $62.5 billion
8. Mark Zuckerberg –– $62.3 billion
9. Michael Bloomberg –– $55.5 billion
10. Larry Page –– $50.8 billion
