Trump hosts GOP senators for lunch to talk healthcare

President Donald Trump will host a lunch for Republican senators Wednesday to discuss the party's failed healthcare bill, according to CNBC.

Once it became clear the GOP did not have support to move forward debating their Better Care Reconciliation Act or repeal the ACA without a replacement bill, Trump said Tuesday that Senators should "just let Obamacare fail." However, Tuesday morning he tweeted that Republicans "MUST keep their promise to America," leaving it unclear what type of legislative action he expects.

Mr. Trump hosted a similar lunch in June after the first version of the Senate's bill stalled. The two senators he was seated between at that lunch, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, are two of the three votes keeping the BCRA from debate on the Senate floor.

Correction: The article previously identified Sen. Lisa Murkowski as "Linda."
