96 workers to be laid off at IU Health Morgan Hospital

Nearly 100 workers at IU Health Morgan Hospital in Martinsville, Ind., will be laid off, according to an Indianapolis Business Journal report.

The news comes about two months before the hospital stops admitting patients for overnight stays.

Out of the 96 displaced workers, one third will be nurses, and the remaining workers will be a mixture of respiratory therapists, pharmacists, food workers and support staff, according to the report, which cites a notice IU Health filed Tuesday with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The Indianapolis Business Journal reported that all of those laid-off workers will receive severance packages and outplacement services.
