While the national hospital CEO turnover rate was 17 percent in 2012, up from 16 percent in 2011, many states have rates well below the average, according to a recent report by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

1. Delaware: 0 percent
2. Connecticut: 4 percent
3. Maryland: 5 percent
4. South Dakota: 6 percent
5. Vermont: 8 percent
6. New Hampshire: 8 percent
7. Maine: 9 percent
8. Wyoming: 11 percent
9. Wisconsin: 11 percent
10. Oregon: 11 percent
11. Iowa: 12 percent

The data includes CEO changes from short-term, general medical/surgical, non-federal hospitals.
