Laptops stolen in Baltimore health clinic, but no records accessed

Televisions and laptops were stolen and damaged during a burglary at Baltimore City Health Department's Eastern Health Clinic, but no patient files were accessed during the event, reports WMAR.

The break-in occurred over the weekend. In addition to some stolen and damaged technology, the report indicates the burglars also took bus tokens for low-income residents.

No patient files or protected health information were compromised, and no medications were taken, according to the report.

"I am extremely disappointed by these events. These actions hurt the very people we serve every day at the Baltimore City Health Department," Leana Wen, MD, Baltimore City Health Commissioner, said in a statement provided to WMAR.
