Uninsured rate falls to 12.9%

The uninsured rate among adults in the U.S. for the fourth quarter of 2014 averaged 12.9 percent, which is a significant drop from the uninsured rate for the same period one year ago of 17.1 percent, according to Gallup.

The uninsured rate in the fourth quarter of 2014 was only slightly down from the 13.4 percent uninsured rate in the third quarter of 2014.

The Gallup results are based on telephone interviews conducted Oct. 1, 2014 to Dec. 30, 2014, as part of the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index survey, with a random sample of 43,016 adults.
