Moody's Affirms Aa3 Rating for Jefferson Health System

Moody's Investors Service has affirmed an "Aa3" rating for bonds issued by Randor, Pa.-based Jefferson Health System.

The rating change comes in conjunction with JHS' name and security change to Main Line Health System, effective June 30. Earlier this year, JHS announced plans to restructure, which will result in its three main entities — Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, its flagship based in Philadelphia, Main Line Health, a four-hospital system based in Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia — splitting up and managing their own finances. JHS will change its corporate name to Maine Line Health at the end of this month, according to Moody's.

The "Aa3" rating reflects Main Line Health's leading market position in its service area, very low debt load and strong operating margins, according to Moody's.
