Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Will Cut $17M in 2 Years

Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center will begin a cost-cutting program in September that is projected to cut $17 million over the next two years, according to an article by the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.

Hospital CFO Kerry Warburton told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that the new program is in place to avoid more radical options like employee layoffs and hiring freezes.

Possible areas of cuts include purchased services, supplies and labor costs through attrition, according to the article. The effort will also divide CRMC into five teams dedicated to improve efficiencies and cut costs.

CRMC also launched a Bright Ideas program in which employees can earn up to $5,000 for effective cost-cutting ideas.
