ProHealth Care, Indiana University Health Partner for Cardiothoracic Surgery

Waukesha, Wis.-based ProHealth Care has partnered with Indiana University Health in Indianapolis to create a cardiothoracic surgery program for ProHealth patients.

The physicians and staff of both organizations will collaborate to create a program in Waukesha using clinical protocols, care pathways and quality metrics used at IU Health's program. The program will be jointly overseen by both organizations.

More specifically, ProHealth and IU Health will work to add services at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement and Maze surgery for treatment of atrial fibrillation.

"Essentially, we will be combining all of our knowledge and experience with all of ProHealth Care's expertise to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients," Arthur Coffey, MD, medical director of cardiovascular surgery at IU Health, said in the news release.

"This is a big step forward for our heart care program and for our patients," Kooroush Saeian, MD, medical director of cardiology for ProHealth Care, added. "Our cardiologists look forward to working in partnership with IU Health and taking our program to a new level."
