Former Alaska hospital exec takes plea deal to avoid prison

Bradley Grigg, former chief behavioral health officer at Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, Alaska, has accepted a plea deal that allows him to avoid prison time, local news outlet KTOO reported March 11.

Mr. Grigg was arrested in August 2022 for allegedly stealing $108,000 from the hospital, according to the Alaska Beacon. The city and borough of Juneau, which owns the hospital, conducted an internal investigation that led to the arrest.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree theft for allegedly making fraudulent travel claims and online purchases over multiple years, according to KTOO. The felony charges each carried jail time of up to 10 years.

Mr. Grigg became chief behavioral health officer of Bartlett Regional in 2017 and resigned in 2021 hours after the resignation and firing of former CEO Rose Lawhorne, MSN.

Last month, Mr. Grigg was sentenced to three years in prison with two years suspended and was also ordered to pay $108,844 in restitution, according to the report. He received a year's credit for house arrest and is out on probation in supervised custody.
