U Michigan Nurses, Leadership Battle Over Contract Negotiations

Contract negotiations between University of Michigan Health System nurses and leadership have been going nowhere for six months, according to an Ann Arbor report.

According to the report, nurses and leadership have been unable to agree on new contract terms for overtime allowances, paid time off and health benefits. Although health system officials expressed their commitment to providing competitive benefits and wages, nurses remain unconvinced, citing "unequal sacrifice" by health system executives with high pay.
