Nurses at Florida's Oak Hill Hospital to Picket Over Staffing

Nearly 300 nurses at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla., are expected to participate in an informational picket tomorrow morning over staffing issues at the hospital, according to a St. Petersburg Times report.

The nurses, which voted to organize in December under the National Nurses Organizing Committee-Florida, part of National Nurses United, claim they are required to care for too many patients under current staffing levels. The nurses are seeking to include an agreed-up staffing level in their contract with the hospital. The hospital and nurses have been participating in contract negotiations since April.

The hospital said the picket will not disrupt hospital operations, according to the report.
