Salem Health, OHSU announce details of new management company: 6 things to know

Oregon Health & Science University in Portland and Salem (Ore.) Health have released details of the management company created to oversee the entities' respective clinical services as an integrated health system, according to a Salem Weekly report.

Here are six things to know about the company.

1. The new company's name will be OHSU Partners.

2. Pending a final agreement, the OHSU Partners will become operational Oct. 1, said Sherryll Hoar, strategic communications administrator for Salem Health, according to the report.

3. The management company's CEO will be Peter Rapp, current executive director of OHSU Healthcare. Norm Gruber, currently the president and CEO of Salem Health, will serve as president.

4. Salem Health's president will be Cheryl Wolfe, currently COO of Salem Health.  OHSU has named Cindy Grueber, currently COO of OHSU, as interim site executive. 

5. The site executive at Salem Health and OHSU will be employed by each respective organization, but will have a direct and primary reporting relationship to the management company, according to the report. The rest of the organizations' workforces will remain separate.

6. OHSU Partners will employ a small staff to take care of finance, integration, technology and strategy, according to the report. Recruitment is underway to fill those four positions.
