HealthTrust was selected for the seventh time as a recipient of a “Champion for Change” award from Practice Greenhealth.
The recognition is one of the national membership organization’s Environmental Excellence Awards given annually to honor outstanding environmental achievements in the healthcare sector.
HealthTrust Director of Education & Sustainability Faye Porter accepted the 2016 award last evening on behalf of the organization during Practice Greenhealth’s annual CleanMed Conference in Dallas, Texas.
Porter says, “HealthTrust is committed to supporting the sustainability initiatives of our member hospitals. Our sourcing processes support environmentally preferable purchasing in many product categories across our portfolio, and we have increased the sustainability resources provided to our members through our online portal. Additionally, over the past year, we have had an internal focus on environmental responsibility, providing colleagues access to resources for being more sustainable at work and at home. We recently held our first Earth Day Fair, including a ‘limit your print’ campaign in conjunction with Earth Day in April.”
