Former President George H.W. Bush hospitalized for pneumonia

Former President George H.W. Bush is at Houston Methodist Hospital for pneumonia, according to a statement from family spokesperson Jim McGrath.

Mr. Bush was admitted to the hospital Friday for observation "due to a persistent cough that prevented him from getting proper rest," Mr. McGrath said.

The former president was ultimately diagnosed with a mild case of pneumonia. Mr. McGrath said the pneumonia "was treated and has since been resolved," although Mr. Bush is "being held for further observation while he regains his strength." He added the former president is "in very good spirits."

This is not the first time Mr. Bush was hospitalized in recent months. He was also admitted to Houston Methodist in January.
