CHC picks Bobby Huskey as 2015 Dan Wilford Award winner: 4 things to know

Plano, Texas-based Community Hospital Corporation has announced Bobby Huskey as the winner of the 2015 Dan Wilford Award for Compassion and Community Service.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Huskey.

1. Mr. Huskey is a certified nursing assistant at Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital at Kings Mountain (N.C.).

2. Mr. Huskey is recognized as "an outstanding individual who demonstrates extraordinary care, compassion and concern for the health and welfare of his community," according to a news release.   

3. Mr. Huskey's colleagues who nominated him for the award describe him as very devoted to patients, staff and the community. Patients and family members also often compliment him for the quality care and special touches he provides — such as picking up a special breakfast for a patient on his way to work, according to a news release. Mr. Huskey is also known for fostering a family atmosphere and cheer throughout the hospital, and often rallies staff for a celebration or holiday meal.

4. CHC will recognize Mr. Huskey and present him with a Waterford crystal bowl, $500 gift card and a framed certificate of appreciation in Kings Mountain on July 15.
